MFL Framework
The purpose of the Foundation Subjects strand is to raise standards by supporting and delivering high-quality teaching and learning. It aims to help teachers to become more effective so that pupils improve in what and how they learn. To be successful, implementation will need good leadership and management, sustained commitment and strong support.
A key feature of the Foundation Subjects strand is the emphasis it gives to the teaching of thinking skills and to assessment for learning. These help pupils to reach higher levels of attainment and become independent learners.
